The mystery yellow cube, helluva confusion it was. Only If I knew that the yellow cube was just useless. There were some true moments of wonder that few games achieve, either of breath taking infinite vistas or mind warping perspective moments (such as the introduction of the non-Euclidean geometry in the blue water puzzle). For me this was my only area of compliant (and maybe that the purple area seemed very short) and found it mostly enjoyable. I did end up finishing the game shortly after getting unstuck in this area and found it overall enjoyable. It just was not very clear between the yellow cube and not having an extra cube that this was the correct path. However, lacking any other recourse i took one of the red cubes from when i first entered the area and reused it in the empty receptacle and that was indeed the answer. My issue was i had been conditioned by the game to think i needed to leave the red cubes where they were, since i had a fixed quantity of them (i.e. I figured it out on my own shortly after sending my message. But how to proceed forward wasn't clear either. Yeah, it became clear after wandering around a while that the yellow cube had nothing to do with the path forward. Gives me flashbacks of weird gravity and physics defying dreams I used to have all the time as a kid. Love the feeling of falling through infinity. And even more so with the yellow tree being there, as that kind of makes it seem like you really need the yellow cube since the trees tend to be there to resupply you with cubes in case you lose them.Īs for improving it, couldn't you just keep the whole level the same but just change the way the barrier works so that it's putting down the yellow cube into the slot that removes the barrier rather than removing it? That or just use one of those fixed "cube-buttons" used for doorways all over the game? Doesn't make the laser easier to find in itself, but at least it clarifies that you aren't supposed to be looking for something to do with the yellow cube, like I was.īy the way, thanks for an awesome game. Finding the laser was easy once I just knew that's what I was supposed to do, rather than go around looking for another puzzle or activation slot requiring the yellow cube. The way that removing it from the thing to deactivate the barrier leaves you opening the area and standing there with the cube in your hands just made it feel a lot like I would need to take the yellow cube with me and use it for another puzzle outside. Yeah it's the superfluous yellow cube that threw me off. The issue didn't become evident to me until after we shipped, and unfortunately I can't improve it without making significant changes to the level design. I see a lot of people on streams struggling with finding the laser beam for that level. If you don't see the cube on the switch for the barrier first, but pick if off the tree, it can be quite confusing. I will admit that puzzle wasn't the best designed. If you're looking for the laser, check the red side. It's meant to be off the switch for the barrier. You actually don't need to put the yellow cube anywhere. Now just lost without a clue and any idea of how to proceed. I felt like the game was good about guiding you what to do up until this point. I can see a receptacle that is red or purple (not sure which) but its one the wrong gravitational plane to use the yellow cube. I have a yellow cube and nowhere to put it. I felt like i was making good progress in the game until i got here, and now am just wandering around lost. Originally posted by Nilla:I'm stuck in this same area. There is a video guide in the "guides" section here that provides a direct visual on it if that helps.Īctivate that laser, and the rest should become clear. Its on one of the flat faces of the buildings in the center. The thing that stumped me on this level was finding the laser that "purified" the area and allowed me to get the godcube. IE, if the blinds are open, you've already been in there. Remember to open the "blinds" once opening each building puzzle, if nothing else to keep track of what buildings you have already been in. Shift gravity and look alongside the buildings. Most of them you should have unlocked just by following the path as things progressed, but there are a few I think off the path. Nothing else needs to be done with that block.įirst, make sure you've actually done all the minor puzzles. It needs to be removed in order to progress. That yellow block powered barrier.I'm actually not sure why that's even there. Its the place with the giant blocks that shift with the gravity right? I think I know which one you are talking about.
