![]() To this end, Huawei has also added a new image processor, and an accelerator of the process within the CPU. Both work together to create the final image. One of the sensors takes pictures in black and white, and the other in RPG. It brings two 12 MP sensors manufactured in collaboration with Leica. The camera is certainly where the P9 provides the surprises. There is something in it which conveys a cheapness and reminds me of the Huawei P8 Lite and P7. The 5.5-inch P9 Plus is a simple and elegant handset, but, for me, it does not come close to the elegance of the Mate S. And on top of the device, the P9 retains the infrared port for use as a remote control.Īt the bottom we find the USB Type-C port and mini headphone jack. On the left side, there’s the SIM and microSD slot, which can hold either two nanoSIMs or one nanoSIM and a microSD card. ![]() © ANDROIDPITĪs for the physical keys, on the right side of the frame there’s the volume rocker followed by the power button, with a texture that makes it easily identifiable to the touch. ![]() The power button's texturized surface makes it easily identifiable. On the rear also we find the fingerprint scanner and Huawei logo. Here we find a similar setup to the Nexus 6P, with a dual camera, dual LED flash and autofocus laser. The largest design change in this generation is found on the back of the device. However, although Huawei made this comparison in its presentation, the effect is more discreet and in the end results in a less impressive finish. Again we find the edge set with 2.5D glass, like on the Huawei Mate S. On the front are two stereo speakers, the front-facing camera and motion sensor. The P9 Plus' lithe frame is more of a burden than a boon. It is 0.7-mm thinner than the S7 Edge, but this thinness, coupled with a 5.5-inch display, does not make it particularly comfortable to hold. The P9 has more rounded corners than its predecessor, improving the grip. The P9 Plus, along with the standard P9, confirms that Huawei has perfected the premium finishing touches. The P8 stood out among its Chinese rivals for bringing a previously unseen level of design quality. I would rather not switch brands as I have gotten used to samsung phones and have gotten my entire family to get Samsung phones. The Huawei P9 Plus has a metal, unibody design reminiscent of the Huawei P8 and Nexus 6P. This seems like a pure software issue and should be rather easy to fix for a big company like Samsung. I have read on some discord and skype forums that Huawei and samsung phones have this problem while some pure android phones and other brands does not. This is a dealbreaker for me and I am seriously considering returning the phone and switching to a brand which does not have this problem. I noticed this because I have terrible cellphone reception in my area and wanted to use discord over wifi as an alternative but as soon as the call opens the audio quality is reduced to a level which I am not able to understand what my father(reduced voice due to illness) is saying. you should now immediately notice a drastic and unbearable decrease in sound quality for the entire sound output of the phone. Does not matter if audio is playing to phone speakers, audio jack or bluetooth headphones.Ģ:open discord/skype (or other voip app that enables 'call mode' on the phone) This happens on the audio output for the entire phone. ![]() I would like to be able to watch series while being on call with someone, for example. I hoped that by switching phone, my issue would go away. It is not a permanent fix however and it's complicated to do. I read on internet that people had found a small fix, they forced the phone to be in call mode and everything worked well. When on call mode, the audio quality from other apps is perfect, but I cannot be heard : my mic stops working. On discord, you can change the communication mode (VOIP) to call mode. ![]() I can't listen to Spotify, nor watch Netflix or YouTube because the audio quality is just awful. It means that I can't multi-task while being on call. I switched from an HTC 11, with which I had the exact same issue I'm going to describe.īasically, when I start a call using discord, Skype or whatsapp, my audio quality becomes really bad. I've had my S10+ since some months already. ![]()
